My name is Bill. I live in a small town, eighty miles northwest of Reno Nv. My wife's name is Deb. She and I, and help
from some of our friends, have rebuild two Dune Buggies. The second one is almost finished and then we will start
to rebuild a 1970 VW Bug. In 2001, there were about five of our friends from church who had Dune Buggies and I wanted one
in the worst way. My oldest daughter had a Dodge Van with a blown engine. She traded it to a friend of hers for a Dune Buggy
and gave it to me in Sept. 2001, for my birthday. At that time I had a working Hunting and Fishing Guide Service and didn't
have time to start a rebuild on the buggy. On 19 Dec. 2001 I had a heart attack and had to have a triple by-pass. I came
home on Christmas day and on 27 Dec. I had to go back and have it all done over. I started the rebuild in March 2002. |

I moved into the shop in March 2002. At that time, the Susanville Buggy Club consisted of Larry, Randy, and Rick, in
the shop. Other members worked on their buggies elsewhere. We had a lot of fun and the guys helped me a lot with my buggy.
I learned a lot about VW's from them. |
